Makoto Shinkai, born in 1973 in Nagano Prefecture in Japan, is a director, animator, and principal voice actor anime. His passion for creating is due to the manga, anime and novels he read while in high school. Makoto is an independent operator who works in an almost artisanal Japanese literature graduate, went into production using CG animation from his job at a video game company, starting his film with the short Tooie Sekai (Other Worlds) in 1997 , which followed Kakomareta sekai (1998), Kanojo to Kanojo no neko (She and her cat) (1999), Minna no uta egao (2003) and the 25-minute film that put him on the map, Hoshi no koe ( Voices of a Distant Star) (2003); to the preceding feature films: Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho (Beyond the Clouds) in 2004, and the acclaimed Go Byōsoku Senchimētoru (5 centimeters per second) in 2007.
Makoto tries to reflect a warm, vague and lonely way of life, it belongs to the main character.
